New Tornado Warnings for Leake, Rankin, Madison, Scott counties in central Mississippi.

Tornado warnings in DeSoto, Marshall, and Tate counties in North Mississippi.

A funnel cloud was reported in Jackson going over I-20 near I-22, according to Ryan Hall and Reed Timmer. NWS says it’s a confirmed sighting, moving toward Flowood and the Jackson International Airport.

According to WLBT Meteorologist Barbie Bassett: Tornado Warning until 5:30pm for Hinds County & Rankin County. TAKE COVER NOW! A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Dry Grove, or 9 miles west of Byram, moving east at 45 mph. It will be near… Jackson 4:30pp, Byram around 4:35pm. Richland & Florence around 4:45pm Pearl, Flowood and Monterey around 4:50pm Brandon around 5pm

Storm Chaser Ryan Hall says a tornado appears to be moving toward Flora and Bentonia.

A tornado warning has been issued for Sunflower County, Washington County, Yazoo County, Humphreys County, and Sharkey County.

Radar indicated rotation, and there are sever thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes.

Severe thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and evening across the region. Damaging winds up to 80mph and tornadoes are the primary concerns.

This morning, even before any storms arrive, could gust around 50 mph with high temps in the lower 80s.

Storm threats will increase after lunch near the Mississippi River, hitting Jackson by 4-6 PM and exiting to the east by 10 PM.
