According to the National Weather Service, the current temperatures between 60 and 70 enjoyed by most of the state at the moment will take a steep downhill slide into the 20s and 30s tonight, with temperatures on the horizon of between 10-15 degrees.
On top of that, Meteorologist Kendall Parks tells us that the wind chills will be between -1 and -10 degrees at the coldest part of the weekend, and may not go back above freezing until Wednesday.
Through much of Friday morning, there’s a tornado warning north of the Interstate 20 corridor until 11 a.m., with possible winds up to 80 miles per hour.
Strong winds with gusts between 60 and 70 miles an hour have also been reported in the Central Mississippi area.
