Police in Prentiss and Jefferson Davis County are still on the lookout for a suspect or suspects in a fatal shooting on April 21.
According to the Prentiss Headlight, police were called to a car accident on Highway 42 East, but when they got there, they found two juvenile gunshot victims. Both were taken to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, where the 15-year-old driver died of his injuries. A 16-year-old passenger was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and released.
Two adults who were also in the vehicle were uninjured and questioned at the scene. All four occupants of the car are from Lawrence County.
Investigators say they’re looking for a gray or white Buick or Mercury Grand Marquis bearing a Lawrence County tag.
It is possible that the situation began on J.E. Johnson Road, authorities said.
