82-Year-Old Prentiss Man Shot, Beaten, and Robbed After Stopping To Help Stranded Drivers

According to a report made by the Prentiss Headlight, a Prentiss man was shot in the face and robbed on Monday.

Jefferson Davis County deputies said that John Anderson, 82, was attacked on Garland Broom Road when he stopped to offer assistance to what he thought were two stranded drivers.

After stopping, Anderson went home to get gas for the two suspects.

When he returned to the stranded drivers, Anderson was shot in the face, beaten, and robbed.

The two suspects then fled in a newer model tan car.

An individual then found Anderson on the side of the road.

He was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) where he was listed in critical condition.
