A Saltillo man is behind bars after police say he hit a police officer with his car.
Bradley Brents is charged with simple assault on a police officer, possession of a controlled substance and many other misdemeanor charges including driving under the influence.
On Friday, police say an officer was hit Brents’ vehicle after contact was made between the two. Immediately after the incident, he was arrested. The officer sustained minor injuries and was later treated by medical personnel and released.
Brents was taken for his initial appearance where Justice Court Judge Chuck Hopkins set his bond. Brents will be presented to the next Grand Jury for the simple assault on a police officer.
