A missing Tennessee teen was found dead in Saltillo Sunday, according to reports.

The Wayne County, Tennessee, Sheriff’s Office says Hunter Carroll, 17, went missing over the weekend, driving a red 1992 two-wheel drive Chevy Pickup with aluminum wheels.

Hunter’s Facebook profile showed him speaking out for mental health, launching a fundraising campaign to raise money for a charity that promotes mental well-being. His last profile photo is of a girl on a pier by the water, with the text, “LLMT” and “10-6-23” on it.

Saltillo police have opened a death investigation, but details on how Hunter died have not been released.

“WCHS Wildcat Nation is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our beloved Senior, Hunter Carroll. Hunter was loved by all. He had a smile and personality that was contagious. With a heavy heart, we would like to express our condolences to the family, friends, and co-workers of Hunter. We ask that you please keep Hunter’s family, classmates, and WCHS in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time,” was the post on the Wayne County (TN) High School page.
