Lincoln County man convicted in 2020 assault, attempted murder

A Lincoln County man is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty last week of attempted murder and simple assault.

A release from the office of District Attorney Dee Bates says Jay Lafleur will be sentenced April 11 in connection with the attemped murder of his wife and an assault on his son in 2020.

Lafleur is facing a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 40 years in prison for the attack on Zelline Lafleur and Andrew Lafleur.

Assistant District Attorneys Brendon Adams and Cheli Durr prosecuted the case in Judge Mike Taylor’s courtroom. Attorneys Joey Norton and Jamey Hardison represented the defendant.
