A Vancleave man has been charged with shooting his wife to death in their home over the weekend.

Sheriff Mike Ezell says deputies found the body of 40-year old Nina Olivia Brossett in a bedroom of a house on Jim Ramsey Road early Monday morning.

Her husband, 37-year old Sterling Dugas, is charged with first degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

During his initial court hearing this afternoon County Court Judge Mark Watts denied bond for Dugas.

The sheriff says an autopsy will be performed on the victim Thursday.
