A burglary suspect who escaped from Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies Tuesday morning is in custody.
Sheriff John Ledbetter says around 7:30 Tuesday, deputies responded to a burglary in progress near a storage unit business off Highway 613 in Escatawpa. They caught Jacob Rowan, handcuffed him and he got away from the deputies, running off into the woods.
The sheriff says with help from dogs and nearby residents who kept seeing Rowan, they found him in the Graham Road area around 11am.
Rowan is wanted in Mobile County on unknown charges. He also faces charges from the sheriff’s department.
This is an ongoing investigation.
