Two homeless people are jailed after allegedly committing unarmed carjacking in Jackson County.
Sheriff John Ledbetter says the victim picked up 27-year-old Joseph Anthony White and 38-year-old Julie Ann Anders at a hotel in Ocean Springs on November 14 and drove them to an area off Highway 57. The victim told investigators that’s where they stole his car.
With the help of a K-9, investigators arrested White and Anders Monday, November 20, at a vacant home in Vancleave. The victim’s car was recovered.
White and Anders are both charged with carjacking and held without bond at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. They will have an initial appearance Tuesday at 1:30 in Jackson County Court.
