20-Year-Old Suspect In Custody After Two Shot In Pelahatchie

A suspect is in custody after two people were shot in Rankin County.

According to Capt. Paul Holley, on Monday around 9:30 p.m., Rankin County deputies were dispatched to Barker Road in Pelahatchie for a shooting.

Deputies arrived and found two people who had been shot. Deputies learned from witnesses that the suspect, Tristan McNair fled the scene in a Chevrolet pickup truck.

Pelahtchie Fire Department, Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department, and Pafford arrived to treat the two gunshot victims.

Aircare had to transport one of the victims, and Pafford ambulance transported the other victim.

Investigators were able to make contact with the suspect on the phone and figured out his location. They took him into custody with the help of Capital Police and Richland Police Department.

McNair was taken to the Rankin County Jail for two counts of aggravated assault. He will go before Rankin County Court Judge David Morrow for his initial court appearance.
