On Monday July 22nd, at approximately 5:55 p.m. Rankin County Criminal Interdiction Deputy Shack conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Truck on Interstate 20 for a traffic violation.
During the stop Deputy Shack developed probable cause that the suspect may be involved in drug trafficking.
Other deputies with the Criminal Interdiction Team responded to assist. Deputy Shack deployed his K9 partner “Voodoo” to search the vehicle.
A K-9 search of the vehicle received a positive alert by “Voodoo”.
A search of the vehicle revealed a cardboard box in the rear passenger area of the vehicle. Approximately 44 pounds of methamphetamine was located inside the box.
The driver of the vehicle, Arnol ZAMORA, was placed under arrest for aggravated trafficking of a Controlled Substance and transported to the Rankin County Jail.
