A McComb man was pronounced dead on the scene of a wreck on Highway 44 in Pike County Wednesday, officials said.

On Wednesday around 1:56 PM, the Mississippi Highway Patrol was called out to a fatal crash.

A 1995 GMC Pickup driven by Ben Andrews, 75, of McComb, was traveling east on Highway 44 when it left the roadway, struck a telephone pole, and overturned. Andrews received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol
