On Thursday, January 25, at around 5:46 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Highway 583 in Walthall County.

A 1997 Nissan Maxima driven by 61-year-old Herman Magee of Tylertown, was traveling north on Highway 583 when it collided with a 2003 Chevy Silverado driven by 51-year-old Robert Henning of
Tylertown, who was traveling south on Highway 583.

Herman Magee received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. Robert Henning received injuries from the crash and was transported to Forest General Hospital.

This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
