Funeral services set for Ridgeland Police Sgt. Ray Daniels

Ridgeland Sgt. Ray Daniels and his K9 Canon

The Ridgeland Police Department has released funeral arrangments for Sgt. Ray Daniels, who died in his home on July 10.

A statement sent by Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Meyers said:

“Sergeant Daniels served his community with honor, dedication, and selflessness for more than 20 years. Sgt. Daniels was instrumental in training, instructing, and leading a generation of police officers in our city as a patrolman, interdiction officer, training officer, supervisor, SWAT operator, coworker, and beloved friend. Ray is preceded in death by his K9 partner Canon.

His impact and service to the city of Ridgeland and its police department shall forever be enshrined in the men and women who carry on his legacy henceforth.”

Meyers asked for continued prayers for Sgt. Daniels, his family, and the Ridgeland Police Department during this time of grief.
