On April 4, the Department of Child Protection Services received a report of alleged child abuse regarding a child that attends one of the local schools.

As a result of the investigation 50-year-old Gena Jacobs McKee of Booneville has been charged with three counts of Felonious Child Abuse (Serious Bodily Harm) and 49-year-old Larry Lance McKee of Booneville has been charged with Felony Child Deprivation of Necessaries with Substantial Harm.

Justice Court Judge Craig Bishop set Gena Jacobs McKee’s bond at $150,000.00 and Larry Lance McKee’s bond at $25,000.00.

Investigator Torie Jumper is over the case.

Assisting in the case were Prentiss County School Resource Officers Tyler Reece and Brandon Slack.

The case will be presented to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.
