Vicksburg Mother Arrested After 17-Month-Old Found In “Uninhabitable Conditions”

A woman in Vicksburg was arrested for felony child abuse on December 28th.
On December 28, Narcotics Investigators with the Vicksburg Police Department conducted a welfare check at a mobile home within the city limits of Vicksburg.
A woman named Samantha Moore and her 17-month-old lived at the mobile home.
During the investigation, the child was found to be in uninhabitable conditions without sources of food or water. The 17-month-old child appeared to not have been bathed in several weeks due to the dirty clothing and the child’s appearance.
Drug paraphernalia and drug residue were in the direct presence of the 17-month-old child who police said had not received medical care in quite some time.
Moore admitted to smoking Methamphetamine and Marijuana in front of the 17-year-old child on multiple occasions.
Child Protective Services were called and placed the 17-month-old child with family members.
On January 04, 2024, 36-year-old Samantha Moore of Vicksburg. MS was arrested and charged with felony child abuse.
The arrest was made on Lawland Drive with the assistance of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Moore’s bond was set at $250,000 by the Municipal Court Judge, Penny Lawson on January 05, 2024.
Moore is to have no contact with the 17-month-old child or other minor children per the conditions set by Judge Lawson. She has been bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
