WREG in Memphis is reporting that a treasure hunter found a body in an abandoned house in Holly Springs over the weekend.

Riley Bryant has found many artifacts dating back to the Civil War and before, he told the TV station, but while metal detecting near the vacant home, he noticed something “that didn’t look right” inside the building.

The Marshall County Coroner;s office has sent the body to the State Crime Lab in Pearl, officials said.

So far there are no identifying characteristics known about the remains, including gender, race, or age.

This is an ongoing investigation.
