The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an afternoon shooting in the 6100 block of Northside Dr. in Bolton. 40-year-old Lacorius Hodge was shot in the chest by 51-year-old Russell Smith during an altercation. Smith is in custody. Hodge has been airlifted to UMMC in critical condition.
According to the Crystal Springs Police Department, arrest warrants have been issued for Datarius Mylik Jamall Boyd (age 27) of Jackson and Nhekhil Quajaylon Lamar Scott (age 23) of Jackson in connection to the murder of Bashar Ali Abublla Mohamed. On November 29, McComb police arrested 26-year-old Tra’Derek Martin of Gradyville on charges of Aggravated Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Malicious Mischief. He was charged in the shooting of a man named DeQuantae McGhee of McComb. Martin is currently being held in the Pike County Jail with a bond of $450,000.
