The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an afternoon shooting in the 6100 block of Northside Dr. in Bolton. 40-year-old Lacorius Hodge was shot in the chest by 51-year-old Russell Smith during an altercation. Smith is in custody. Hodge has been airlifted to UMMC in critical condition.

On November 29, McComb police arrested 26-year-old Tra’Derek Martin of Gradyville on charges of Aggravated Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Malicious Mischief. He was charged in the shooting of a man named DeQuantae McGhee of McComb. Martin is currently being held in the Pike County Jail with a bond of $450,000.
