On the evening of Thursday, June 6, the Adams County Special Operations Group executed a narcotics search warrant at 37 Fieldview Drive in the Cranfield area, following several complaints about criminal activity in the area.

During the operation, the target of the warrant, Roy Ray Jr., attempted to dispose of drugs by flushing them down the toilet. Deputies detained him without incident and recovered Suboxone strips, two bags of marijuana, and a clear bag with dissolving pills from the dismantled toilet. They also found digital scales in the bathroom trashcan and brass knuckles and plastic baggies in the kitchen.

Roy Ray Jr. received a warning message from Tabitha McClain at 11 Fieldview Drive just before deputies arrived, putting them at risk. Deputies arrested McClain for Hindering Prosecution. While awaiting transport, a Ford Explorer driven by Edrina Fay Fairchild accelerated towards deputies, forcing them to take evasive action. Fairchild was arrested for two active warrants and Reckless Driving.

On Friday morning, June 7, deputies arrested Joshua McClain at 11 Fieldview Drive for a Failure to Appear warrant. They also arrested James Johnston for Trespassing and Chaisty Hammers for a Probation Violation warrant from Louisiana.

Arrests and Charges:

  • Roy Ray Jr. (49): Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Schedule II Drug (Suboxone), Possession of Marijuana (less than 30 grams), and Tampering with Evidence. He faces a Probation Violation charge from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
  • Tabitha McClain (18): Hindering Prosecution.
  • Edrina Fay Fairchild (49): Reckless Driving and Contempt of Court Warrants.
  • Joshua McClain: Failure to Appear warrant.
  • James Johnston: Trespassing.
  • Chaisty Hammers: Probation Violation in Louisiana, pending extradition.

All individuals were transported to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and booked in.
