Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call at Merit Health on Sunday morning, April 14, concerning a victim with a stab wound to the chest. He was identified as Keith Matthews and was in critical condition.

During the investigation, deputies traced the incident back to Riverwood Manor Apartments. There, they arrested and identified the suspect, Jariod Lamar Hauer.

Subsequent interviews led investigators to recover the knife from Hauer’s residence. Hauer has since been arrested and charged with Aggravated Domestic Violence.

Matthews remains in critical condition and has been transferred to another medical facility for treatment.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
