A Texas man is behind bars after running from a Rankin County Interdiction Deputy on Monday.
According to spokesman Paul Holley, a silver Mercedes sedan was speeding westbound on I-20. The deputy got behind him to confirm, and then activated his blue lights.
The suspect pulled to the shoulder as though he were going to stop, but he pulled back into traffic and quickly accelerated to over 100 mph. Pearl Police Department was able to stop him with spike strips near the outlet malls in Pearl.
Jose A. Zermeno from Dallas, Texas was transported to the Rankin County Jail where he is being charged with felony fleeing.
