Pike County man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

Drugs confiscated after a traffic stop in Pike County

A man is in custody on drug charges in Pike County after a Sunday traffic stop.

A release from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office says their narcotics division, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, and the Mississippi Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop with a black Dodge pickup truck travelling northbound on Interstate 55.

Officers then identified the driver as Charles Pittman.

Upon searching the vehicle, they recovered 312 grams of freebase cocaine and 192 grams of powder cocaine for a total of 16 ounces/1 pound.

Charles Pittman is charged with improper operating equipment, speeding, possession of Schedule I/II, and aggravated trafficking in controlled substances.

No bond has been set at this time.
