According to the Tupelo Police Department, on August 31, officers served a Lee County Circuit Court Capias Warrant on 42-year-old Tavarus T. Boone (from Tupelo) for Possession of Weapon By A Convicted Felon.
This warrant is pertaining to a 2023 traffic stop in which Boone was found to be in possession of a handgun and later found to be a convicted felon.
Boone was held on a $20,000 bond set by Lee County Circuit Court at the time the capias was issued.
This case is awaiting trial in Lee County Circuit Court.
The US Marshal’s Task Force also helped in locating Boone.
