Tupelo Man With Multiple Warrants Arrested After Leading Officers On A Chase

On March 10, at approximately 8:00 pm officers with the Tupelo Police Department stopped a vehicle for traffic and equipment violations near Cross Town.
As officers approached the vehicle, the driver fled leading to a vehicle pursuit that went south into Verona.
The driver was taken into custody a short time later. He was identified as 28-year-old Mydreaus D. Watkins and was charged with Felony Fleeing.
The driver had several active warrants with the City of Tupelo.
Suspected narcotics and a firearm were also recovered and are being investigated.
Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen set Watkins’s bond at $75,000. These charges will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
