Troopers work 3 fatal crashes since Sunday in Brookhaven district

– On Tuesday around 7:47 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on US 84 in Franklin County.

A 2014 Honda Accord driven by 17-year-old Brooklynn Cupit of Meadville was headed east on US 61 when she attempted to cross the westbound lanes and collided with a 2007 Peterbilt Truck driven by 65-year-old Richard Reeves of Bogue Chitto. Reeves was traveling west on US 84. Richard Reeves received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

– On Monday, around 8:14 p.m., MHP responded to a fatal hit-and-run crash on US 61 in Wilkinson County involving a pedestrian.

A vehicle was traveling north on US 61 when it collided with Herman Lee Davis, 69, of Woodville, and left the scene. Davis received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. The vehicle that left the scene is believed to be a 2003 to 2007 Lincoln Navigator, Ford Expedition, or a Ford F-150 missing the mirror on the right side.

– On Sunday at approximately 2:01 PM, the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on US 61 in Jefferson County.

A 2000 Mercedes ML driven by Jeremy Williams, 35, of Madison, traveled north on US 61 when he left the road and overturned. Williams received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

These crashes remain under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
