A man was shot and another was assaulted in an early morning incident in Southaven.

A release from Southaven Police Department said that around 6:21 a.m., officers were called to the Fox Haven Apartments at 500 Rasco Road regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found that one male had been shot in the jaw and another male had been physically assaulted.

Both individuals were transported to a hospital for treatment and are reportedly in stable condition. Authorities say involved parties have been accounted for, and there is no danger to the public.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
