Southaven woman charged with manslaughter after boyfriend found with fatal head trauma

On Thursday around 11:15 p.m., Southaven police officers responded to an injured white male in the parking lot of Dan McGuinness`s Bar.

Officers arrived on the scene and found a man who suffered massive head trauma. He was identified as Charlie Joyner of Southaven.

Due to Joyner’s injuries, he was transported to Regional One Trauma Center. Joyner ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Joyner was in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend Tiffany Monette. Southaven detectives were able to watch video footage from inside the bar, showing Monette and Joyner arguing. Shortly after, Monette walked out of the bar stating she was leaving as Joyner attempted to stop her.

While outside the bar, a witness stated a female driving a pick-up truck, pulling a trailer was nudging Joyner as he stood in front of the vehicle. Video evidence from the a business nearby shows Monette leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed shortly after Mr. Joyner came up to the vehicle.

Monette was taken into custody and charged with Manslaughter and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with injuries/death.
