On Tuesday at approximately 9:19 P.M., the Southaven Police Department responded to 541 Stateline Road in regards to a shooting complaint.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had been shot in the thigh during what they said looked to be a road rage incident. Detectives responded to the scene, and began their investigation. Detectives were able to identify the suspects’ vehicle as a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt bearing Mississippi tag DAK2300.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to learn that Cortz Darling had been observed entering the aforementioned vehicle at 8886 Sweet Flag Loop West earlier in the evening.
On Wednesday, May 24th, 2023, at approximately 10:10 A.M. detectives, along with SWAT and Uniform Patrol were able to take Cortz Darling into custody upon his arrival back to the residence, without incident.
The vehicle was seized, and a firearm was located in the vehicle. Cortz Darling has been charged with attempted murder and Drive-by Shooting.
