A woman is dead after a fatal house fire overnight on Red Oak Road in the Leesburg Community of Rankin County.
According to Rankin County Sheriff’s Department Legal Counsel Paul Holley, the victim is 71-year old Judy Chunn. The fire was reported around 11 p.m. When officials arrived on scene, the home was fully involved.
Rankin County EOC Director Mike Word said a home, a travel trailer, and a motor home were destroyed in the blaze.
Holley says the cause of the fire has not been determined, but no foul play is suspected.
Red Oak Road is in the northeastern part of Rankin County. The Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
