Last night, a Rankin County deputy was responding to a two-vehicle wreck when a drunk driver slammed into the back of the officer’s patrol vehicle.
The incident happened on Highway 25 near Kitty Hawk Drive.
Sheriff Bryan Bailey said the suspect struck the back of the patrol car while driving a Chevrolet Equinox.

Thankfully, the deputy was not inside of the vehicle and was not injured.
The suspect has been identified as 69-year-old Mack Alexander Craig, from Brandon.
He has been charged with DUI, his fourth offense.
MHP is investigating this incident since it involved a Rankin County deputy car.
