The Mississippi Children’s Museum kicked off the new year early with a balloon drop and countdown to Noon on Saturday.
The event, Noon Year’s Eve, is held every year and has a number of activities leading up to the countdown.
” A lot of times children can’t make it to midnight, so we give them the opportunity to go all out. We have confetti cannons, countdown clocks and a DJ, so they get to celebrate like adults get to celebrate,” said Director of External Affairs, Angela Mitchell.
Activities like adding New Years wishes to the wishing wall, making hats and creating noisemakers help prepare the kids for the big finale. Activities that created memories for the Jackson family.
“We’re really enjoying ourselves. We love the Children’s Museum! There’s always a lot of fun activities for families, kids and even adults. We’re excited to ring in the new year! We want to celebrate with family and friends loving each other and enjoy life,” said Tamekia Jackson.
Photo Ops and mini balloon pops were also available for families to enjoy.
This is the final event of the Museum’s annual Christmas exhibit, Journey to the North Pole which ends January 8.
