Caden Newman

The search for a 6-year-old Wesson boy who went missing Saturday is over.

Caden Newman was found Sunday and is safe. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation had issued a Missing/Endangered Child alert after Caden was reported missing Saturday around 3 p.m. in the 4000 block of Martinsville Road in Copiah County.

Brent and Shemika Boyd, two searchers on horseback, were struck by a vehicle near Bonner Road during the search and both were hospitalized. Their horses could not be saved.

An update on the post says, “Brent and Shemika both have fractures left ankles. Brent will be having surgery on the left ankle today hopefully. They both have spinal fractures. But no issues from that other than pain. They are both being evaluated as to the best way to treat those fractures.
Please continue to pray.”

We have reached out to the Copiah County Sheriff for more information.
