McComb: Two behind bars; one for felony child abuse/rape

According to the McComb Police Department, 19-year-old Joseph Lawrence Johnson of Centerville is behind bars on multiple counts of abuse.

Johnson is charged with felonious infliction of physical or injury upon a vulnerable person (2 counts), gratification of lust against a vulnerable person (2 counts), and rape.

Destiny Kiara Nowell, 21, of McComb is charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency or neglect of a child.

Investigators became aware of the situation when two underage children were admitted to SW Medical Center in McComb with bruising and marks on their bodies, authorities said.

The children were immediately transported to UMMC in Jackson.

Johnson was issued a $1 million bond and Nowell was given a $200,000 bond.
