On Wednesday, August 28, at approximately 5:49 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Highway 24 in Amite County.
A 2005 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 34-year-old Derrick Magee of McComb, traveled east on Highway 24 when it collided with a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 27-year-old Steven Butler of Kentwood, LA, traveling west on Highway 24.
Derrick Magee was killed in the crash and pronounced dead on the scene.
This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol
