Lincoln County man will serve 20 years for drug trafficking

A Lincoln County man is looking at 20 years in prison after pleading guilty on six charges in circuit court Monday, according to a release from District Attorney Brendon Adams.

Jerry Lamar Garner pleaded guilty to charges of possession of at least 10 but less than 30 dosage units of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of at least one tenth but less than two grams of fentanyl, possession of at least two but less than 10 grams of methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess methamphetamine, and possession of more than 20 dosage untis of methamphetamine.

Adams said Judge David Strong sentenced Garner to 36 years to serve with suspended time cosidered. He will serve 20 years day for day as a habitual offender.

“Our office continues to work with law enforcement partners to stop drug trafficking in our district,” Adams said. “The amount of fentanyl in Garner’s possession was roughly enough to kill 695 people. We will not tolerate this poison in our district.”
