Several agencies responded Tuesday to a 911 call of a man having fallen into a grain elevator.
Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel said in a Facebook post that the man was completely covered by soybeans.
Rigel said Sumrall VFD, Lamar County SO, Pine Ridge VFD, Hickory Grove VFD, Life Guard Ambulance Service, Lamar County Emergency Management, and several community members responded for the rescue effort.
“After a Herculean effort by all those who helped, the subject was successfully rescued and was brought to the hospital for treatment,” the sheriff wrote.
