If you picked up a firefighter coat on Baker Lane, they need it back

Therese Apel

Did you pick up a turnout coat like this on Baker Lane on Friday, January 19? Langford Fire Department would love to get it back.

A Rankin County fire department is looking for a firefighter’s coat that fell off of a fire engine en route to a call on Friday.

The turnout coat, which bears the writing “Langford VFD” on the back, flew off the truck on Baker Lane in Brandon just after 12:30 p.m.

A post from Langford on Facebook Friday said firefighters looking in the rearview mirror saw a white truck stop to pick it up.

Firefighting equipment costs thousands of dollars, and volunteer departments don’t have a lot of disposable income, so Langford firefighters are asking that anyone who may have picked up the coat or anyone who has an idea who did please message the department on Facebook.

If you want to remain anonymous, you can also drop it off at the station or at Rankin Emergency Operations Center at 601 Marquette Road in Brandon.
