A man was arrested Saturday after Oxford police said he held a person against their will inside a residence on Eagle Point Loop.

Landon Dove, 26, of Caledonia, was arrested and charged with felony kidnapping and multiple misdemeanor charges after the incident.

A release from the Oxford Police Department says officers responded to a call at that location for a reported domestic disturbance. Dispatch learned that a person inside was being held inside the home. A negotiator tried to make contact but was unable to hold consistent communications with the people inside.

For two hours, officers worked to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution, police said. Finally, officers entered the home to make certain the victim inside was safe.

The victim was unharmed, police said. Dove was given a $100,000 bond by a Lafayette County judge.
