A crash in Florence claimed the life of a woman, critically injured a man and left a motorcyclist in the hospital Tuesday night.
The woman was identified as 46-year-old Mary Maria Shaffer of Florence, according to her driver’s license. According to the Deputy Coroner, her family calls her Mia Hilton.
Rankin County authorities confirm the incident happened on White Road on Tuesday evening.
Officials say a pickup and an SUV hit head-on, and that there was also a motorcycle involved.
Mia Hilton, 46, was the driver of the SUV and was pronounced dead on the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck was airlifted to UMMC to be treated. The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
