Authorities have confirmed to a coast television station that  a body pulled from the water near Interstate 10 Friday was a missing Louisiana woman

Coroner Derek Turnage told WLOX that Courtney Johnson and her car were found in the water just off I-10 in Hancock County.  An autopsy will be done Monday to confirm the cause of death.

Johnson was last known to be traveling to a casino in Biloxi.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators were working with Hancock County rescue teams Friday to search the water near mile marker 8, near the Waveland exit.

Friends of Johnson, 34, reported her missing after they hadn’t heard from her at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. She had told a friend she was headed to the Golden Nugget casino to meet friends, but she never checked into the hotel.
