A house party turned tragic over the weekend when police say a 19-year-old shooter took the lives of two teens and injured another four.

Authorities say Cameron Everest Brand was initially charged with six counts of aggravated assault, but two of those have been upgraded to murder.

Bay St. Louis police were called to a shooting in the 1000 block of Old Blue Meadow Road early Sunday morning, officials said.

Officers arriving at the scene found several people who had been shot, and others had gone to the hospital already in their own cars.

WLOX reports that witnesses said they saw the shooter walk in and start shooting into a fleeing crowd.

The victims ranged in age from 15 to 18.

Authorities said the deceased were ages 18 and 16. They died after being treated at a New Orleans hospital.

WLOX reports that the 18-year-old’s family identified him as De’Arreis Smith of Pearlington. He would have graduated from Hancock High School in May and planned on enlisting. The 16-year-old hasn’t been identified yet.

Police say witnesses told them Brand, of Pass Christian, was the only shooter. According to WLOX, he had a history of arrests last year, which allegedly included carrying a concealed weapon and domestic violence.
