On July 28, the Tupelo Police Department responded to a shoplifting call at a business on West Main Street.
When officers arrived, employees at the store told officers that an individual had shoplifted a large amount of merchandise from the business.
Store personnel were able to identify the suspect by items that he left behind when he fled the scene.
On October 17, after further investigation, 53-year-old Robert E. Rucker (from Amory), was arrested and charged with Shoplifting 3rd Offense (Felony).
Rucker has been found guilty of 15 previous misdemeanor Shoplifting charges in Tupelo Municipal Court, along with multiple felony charges of Shoplifting.
On October 29, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered Rucker to be held without bond. This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
