One person has died following an incident near Horn Island on Sunday afternoon, according to WLOX.
According to Jackson County Deputy Coroner James Prisock, the victim jumped from an anchored boat into shallow water. After resurfacing in an unconscious state, he was brought to Ocean Springs Harbor by the Department of Marine Resources.
A life flight was called, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
