Police responded to the Cracker Barrel in Pearl on Sunday after what could have been a terrible situation.
Authorities say they recieved a shots fired call at the restaurant on Riverwind Drive Sunday. When they got there, they were able to determine that there was an accidental discharge.
A witness told WJTV that a gun had fallen out of a woman’s purse and gone off.
Pearl PD said on their Facebook page that officers are assessing whether there will be any charges.
“This is a stark reminder that if you are going to conceal carry, please use caution and remember to safely transport/conceal the firearm,” the post reads. “Thankfully nobody was injured and all the front porch checkers games are able to resume!!!”
