Pearl police have arrested a Morton man for allegedly “violently attacking a female companion in Pearl.”
Christopher Curtis Mack, 38, has been charged with Aggravated Domestic Violence.
According to police chief Nick McLendon, around 3:40 a.m. Sunday, Pearl Police Department responded to an address on Shelton Street in reference to a physical disturbance.
Patrol officers located Christopher Mack walking down the street away from the home and detained him for questioning. Upon arriving at the residence, patrol officers “encountered a truly horrific scene,” McLendon said in a release, and provided emergency medical care to the female victim. McLendon describes the victim as “savagely beaten.”
The victim was transported to a local hospital for emergency care for her injuries. Mack was arrested, charged, and transported to the Rankin County Jail.
Mack has recently been in the news for a lawsuit he brought against the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department.
This case will be presented to the Rankin County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
