Columbus Police are investigating a late Sunday night shooting incident that injured three persons outside an East Columbus business.

According to Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton, three persons arrived at Baptist Memorial Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.

“This is an unusual case,” said Shelton. “No one called us from the scene to report the incident. We got the information long after the fact.”

The victims reported the incident occurred in the parking lot of Mike’s Car Wash in the 700 block of Alabama Street near 9 p.m. Sunday.

“There was some type of argument between several persons, and three persons were shot,” said Shelton. “We believe a fourth person was involved and may have done some or all of the shooting. It is still early, and we are still putting together all the facts.”

If you have any knowledge of this incident, please call the Columbus Police Department or your local Crime Stoppers.
