A house fire Friday night resulted in the death of a Rankin County man.

Call of the house fire went out just after 10 p.m., advising first responders the home on Rose Hill Road was fully involved and that there could be entrapment.

Rankin County Coroner David Ruth said Saturday that the body of Harold Harris was recovered Friday night from the remains of the home.

Rankin Emergency Operations Director Mike Word said Cato, Puckett, Shell Road, and Robinhood volunteer fire departments, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, Rankin County EOC, Southern Pine Electrical, and Rankin County Coroner’s office worked the scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the flames.
