A Southaven police officer was arrested Friday evening by Hernando police on child pornography charges.
Hernando Police Department said in a release that Harold “Tad” Rogers, 38, was arrested and charged with enticement of a child to produce sexually explicit pictures.
Rogers, who lives in Hernando, was arrested after investigators identified him from sexually explicit conversations they’d had with him undercover. A police officer posing as a 13-year-old girl allegedly was solicited by Rogers for sexually explicit pictures.
The Southaven Police Department issued a statement over the weekend saying that Rogers, who has been on the force since August, is currently suspended. Chief Macon Moore said the issue will be brought before the city board on Tuesday.
Rogers is scheduled to appear in court today at 1 p.m.
